Church Publishing Inc. established this site as an online community for clergy, lay staff, and volunteers to share Christian formation ideas and resources. Sharon Pearson, Christian Formation Specialist for CPI, moderates. Sign up for her monthly e-newsletter, Living IN-Formation, for seasonal ideas and activities for families and churches. Children’s Literature: A Resource for Ministry
This site, a project of Union Presbyterian Seminary (Charlotte, NC, and Richmond, VA), offers a variety of ways to tie in children’s books with the Sunday lectionary. See Lectionary Links for examples of storybooks linked thematically to scripture readings.
The Prayer Book Guide to Christian Education
This is another great site co-authored by Sharon Pearson. It accompanies the third edition of The Prayer Book Guide to Christian Education (Church Publishing) and offers current educational pedagogy, as well as new resources for living out Sunday readings in worship, educational settings, and home. In addition to commentary on Sunday readings, there is wealth of information about the various liturgical seasons.
Faith Inkubators is dedicated to the health and welfare of all God’s children and the whole Christian Church. Their goal is to catalyze a revolution in home-based faith formation and build a home devotional movement across the church, seeking to “incubate faith” every night in every home. Parent Further: A Search Institute Resource for Families
Parent Further aims at a positive strength-based approach to parenting, focusing on what’s right with kids & parents and the small, everyday steps families can take to help kids grow and thrive. The core of the advice and approach presented here is building on developmental research from the Search Institute, a nonprofit organization in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This is an attractive, well organized site covering a wide variety of parenting topics, ranging from babies to teens.
