New Beginnings
What is New Beginnings?
The New Beginnings weekend event is designed especially to respond to the unique challenges and concerns of youth in grades 6 to 8. It was created by adults and young people to help participants grow in their love of themselves, others and our Lord Jesus Christ.
New Beginnings check-in starts at 7 pm on Friday at Dayspring Conference Center in the Program Center. Closing Eucharist begins at 3 pm on Sunday at the Program Center. Friends and family are encouraged to attend the closing Eucharist.
The grounds of DaySpring are open to participants, who not only come for the fellowship but also to enjoy DaySpring's setting on the Manatee River. During the weekend, participants meet peers from across the region, enjoy skits, listen to talks, and participate in small group activities and discussions. These activities focus on friends, parents, siblings, school, God’s love, prayer, and the church. Free time is built in for youth and adults to have an opportunity to be in fellowship with their newfound friends.
The $100 fee includes all meals and lodging at DaySpring.
All payment is due prior to arrival. You may call our Controller, Jerry Buss to make your payment at 941-556-0315 x981.
High School youth are also encouraged to apply for our New Beginnings Steering Committee. This group will serve as the core leadership for our Diocesan New Beginnings Retreats helping to guide the focus of each one.
