Creation Care Retreat

An intimate group of scientists, Master Naturalists, scholars, priests, and avid gardeners came together to retreat in the serene and sacred space of DaySpring Episcopal Conference Center on March 8 and 9 for the annual Creation Care retreat.
New Executive Chef Joins DaySpring

PARRISH - DaySpring Episcopal Conference Center is pleased to announce Scott Mullen has joined the
DaySpring staff as Executive Chef and Food Services Director. In his role at DaySpring, Scott is responsible for the preparation and serving of all meals, managing the food service production, the purchase and inventory of food and supplies, and training and supervising the DaySpring food service staff.

PARRISH - The Rev. Dr. Michael Battle, the Herbert Thompson Professor of Church and Society and Director of the Desmond Tutu Center at General Theological Seminary, will speak at the annual Reconciliation Series lecture and workshop of the Diocese of Southwest Florida, set for Dec. 5, 2020. This is an in-person event, limited to 40 participants.

PARRISH – The Diocese of Southwest Florida held a two-day online event in November entitled, 2020: Grace in the Year of Trials. The event, part of a series of events relating to race, featured clergy from across The Episcopal Church. The goal of the conversations was to offer viewers an ability to look beyond politics and find common ground around issues intensified by the pandemic, racism and our presidential election.

PARRISH - One of my favorite stories about Jesus occurs in the 6th chapter of Mark’s gospel. Jesus sends the 12 out in groups of two to do mission work, and when they come back and report on their missionary activities, he invites them to “come away to a deserted place all by yourselves and rest a while” because “they had no leisure even to eat.” (Mark 6:31ff)
