Church of the Redeemer to Host Night to Shine Prom for People with Special Needs Sponsored by Tim Tebow Foundation

SARASOTA, Fla. – Church of the Redeemer will host Night to Shine 2023, sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation, on Friday, Feb. 10, from 6-9 p.m. This prom-night experience celebrating people with special needs will be held simultaneously at churches around the world. Redeemer is in the heart of downtown Sarasota at 222 S. Palm Ave. This will be the first Night to Shine held in the City of Sarasota.

PARRISH – Church of the Apostles, an Episcopal Church located on the grounds of DaySpring Conference Center – is undertaking its first outreach program benefiting Hope Family Services, a not-for-profit agency serving survivors of domestic violence in Manatee County.

BRADENTON - It is with great sadness that the diocese shares news of the death of Alan Hardy Prather, Esq. on Sunday, February 5, 2023. Mr. Prather, 74, died peacefully surrounded by family. He was born on January 28, 1949, in Gainesville, FL. Mr. Prather attended Christ Episcopal Church, served on the Vestry, and participated as a Reader/Chalice Bearer and Chancellor. He was also the Vice Chancellor of the Manasota Deanery in the Diocese of Southwest Florida.
Mr. Prather is survived by his wife, Beverly; his sister, Robyn Spangler, and family; daughter, Jennifer (Mike) Taylor; sons, Ben (Jenny) Sabo and Nathan (Jen) Sabo. He is also survived by his grandchildren, the love and joy of his life, Christian Taylor, Kayleigh Sabo, Isabel Taylor, Chase Thornton, Orin Taylor, Christian Sabo, Amelia Sabo, Grady Sabo, nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
The funeral liturgy will be 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Christ Episcopal Church, 4030 Manatee Avenue West, Bradenton, FL, with a reception to follow in the church parish hall.
