Nominating Committee
Each year at Annual Convention in October, the Diocese of Southwest Florida elects representatives to its committees, councils, and offices.
Elective positions, including representatives to various boards and committees, are a critical part of the operations of the Diocese. Positions to be elected at the annual October convention include representatives to the Diocesan Council, the "Board of Directors” for the corporation of the Diocese, and members of the Standing Committee, which acts as a confidential council of advice to the Bishop.
Diocesan Canon II, section b. states:
1.) No later than five (5) months prior to the scheduled date of the annual meeting of the Convention, the Committee shall circulate a request to all Congregations and deaneries for names of persons to be nominated to positions to be filled by Convention.
Each year, August 1 is traditionally the deadline for nominations to be included in the Annual Convention guidebook. You can nominate HERE.

The deadline is August 1, 2021, to appear in the Annual Convention program. Nominees must submit a short bio, photo, as well as a description of their activities within the Diocese that relate to their nomination.

54th Annual Diocesan Convention Details for Saturday, Dec. 10

PARRISH - The business meeting of the 54th Annual Diocesan Convention will convene to vote on the 2023 budget and resolutions, and elect persons to various boards and committees.
Registration will open at 7:30 am. and Convention will be called to order promptly at 9:30 am. Lunch will be offered to those attending the meeting.
The meeting will be held at The Cathedral Church of St. Peter, 140 4th St N, St. Petersburg, FL 33701.
Parking instructions: Free parking is available in the lot directly across from The Cathedral on 2nd Ave North and at the St. Petersburg First United Methodist Church parking lot located at 212 3rd Street North, St. Petersburg, 33701.
