April 13: Clergy Spouse Weekend Features Dr. Fredrica Thompsett

PARRISH - The Annual Clergy Spouse Association Spring retreat is April 13-15 at DaySpring Episcopal Center and will be led by Dr. Fredrica Harris Thompsett, an Anglican church history scholar and theologian.

Dr. Fredrica Harris Thompsett is a teacher, author, and scholar of Anglican church history and theology. She is the Mary Wolfe Professor Emerita of Historical Theology at Episcopal Divinity School.

Her latest books are In Conversation: Michael Curry and Barbara Harris and Looking Forward, Looking Back: Forty Years of Women’s Ordination. Her most popular book is a 1989 publication, We Are Theologians. She currently serves on the Episcopal Church’s Executive Council and is a longtime advocate for the ministry of laity and clergy.

The weekend will begin on Friday with a reception for CSA members and clergy featuring poolside refreshments and fellowship. A barbeque dinner will follow under the cover of the outdoor pavilion.

Live entertainment for the evening will be provided by the Standing 8 Count Jazz Ensemble. The retreat will continue for CSA members on Saturday and Sunday with program sessions led by Dr. Fredrica Harris Thompsett and Saturday 5 p.m. Eucharist with Bishop Dabney Smith.
