History of St. Giles' Episcopal Church

Founded in 1958 and under the guidance of Fr. Smith the church grew from a dozen plus families to several hundred.  The picture (seen above) is a copy of the original blueprint for St. Giles'.  It looks much the same today with the exception of the cross on the top, which had to be removed and the tower lowered as winds caused the cross to move and leaks in the roof to form.  Originally there were bells located in this tower which were rung before each service, these have also since been removed.

The original members met in what's called, "Trimble Hall" due to a large donation made by the William Trimble Family.  (William now resides in the St. Joseph of Aramathia Memorial Garden behind the Church).  After securing enough financing the Sanctuary was built.

Later additions were made, such as the Pastor's Office (now the Music Room) and four classrooms.  Need for more space required additonal facilities and a Food Pantry and new office/Lounge were added.

More information coming soon, doing research...

Our History:

Our Church, like most churches, has been around for many years and has seen many changes.  If you walk our grounds you can see a few of them.

Here is a fun game, see how many crosses you can find inside and outside St. Giles'.
